The Finance Committee are stewards of the church's financial health. They develop the annual budget, create fundraising plans, oversee fund management and disbursement, establish internal controls, such as two-person offering counting, ensuring transparency through reporting and audits, and guide the treasurer and financial secretary to support the congregation's mission and vision.


Core Responsibilities


  • Budgeting: proposes the annual budget to the Church Council for approval, aligning finances with ministry goals.
  • Fundraising: develops and implements plans to raise sufficient income to meet the budget.
  • Financial Management: oversees income and expenses, manages assets, and administers funds according to church council direction.
  • Reporting: provides financial reports to leadership and the annual conference to ensure transparency.
  • Audits: arranges for annual financial audits and reports them to the Charge Conference.
  • Offering Count: endures at least two unrelated individuals count the offerings, supervising the Financial Secretary.


Current Events


Finance will meet on April 15th. An updated budget will be discussed and voted to approve.


Past Events


Finance met on January 11th at a regular meeting. An initial budget was presented by the Treasurer. It was discussed and approved. Discussions were done on setting up an on-line giving system. This is being looked into and will be discussed at a future meeting.
